CONNECTING YOU TO FAMILIES IN NEED

CarePortal is an online platform that brings the real-time needs of hurting children and families in the Kokomo area to our attention.

Department of Child Services caseworkers uncover critical material needs of the families with whom they work. Then, CarePortal makes local churches who have signed up, including Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, aware of these needs and provides the opportunity to respond.

What happens after I sign up?

You will receive either a call or text notification from a LCOR CarePortal Team Leader who will activate your request to join the team.  Once activated, we ask that you download the FREE phone app called "TELEGRAM," and we will send you an invite to our Response Team Telegram Group. This is how we share open requests, and it allows you to see the responses from our team members.  As a member of the Response Team, you may respond to as many or as few requests as you’d like.

What if I want to review open CarePortal requests for Howard County?

Click on the “VIEW OPEN REQUESTS” button. You will be directed to the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer CarePortal landing page where you may review all open requests for assistance.

  • If you find a request you would like to meet, you can either contact Cindy or Tracy directly or you may set up an account with CarePortal and put Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer as your connecting church.

How can I give to the LCOR CarePortal fund?

Anyone can contribute to the LCOR CarePortal ministry. Funds will be used to meet the needs of vulnerable children in our community.

  • Write a check to LCOR and note in the memo: CarePortal Ministry. (The church business manager will notify the CP leaders of donated funds to the CarePortal account.)
