CONNECTING YOU TO FAMILIES IN NEED

CarePortal is an online platform that brings the real-time needs of hurting children and families in the Kokomo area to our attention.

Department of Child Services caseworkers uncover critical material needs of the families with whom they work. Then, CarePortal makes local churches who have signed up, including Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, aware of these needs and provides the opportunity to respond.

What happens after I sign up?

You will receive either a call or text notification from a LCOR CarePortal Team Leader who will activate your request to join the team.

Once activated, we ask that you download the FREE phone app called "TELEGRAM," and we will send you an invite to our Response Team Telegram Group. This is how we share open requests, and it allows you to see the responses from our team members.  As a member of the Response Team, you may respond to as many or as few requests as you’d like.

How can I give to the LCOR CarePortal fund?

Anyone can contribute to the LCOR CarePortal ministry. All donated FUNDS are considered tax-deductible. The funds will be used to meet the needs of vulnerable children in our community.

  • Write a check to LCOR and note in the memo: CarePortal Ministry. (The church business manager will notify the CP leaders of donated funds to the CarePortal account.)

How can I donate items?

The most helpful items to donate are: $25 grocery gift cards (Aldi, Kroger, Walmart, etc.), twin sheet sets, twin comforter sets, twin mattress protectors, bed pillows w/ protectors, twin beds and bunk beds with clean mattresses, toddler beds, toddler mattresses, dressers, and new unexpired clean car seats (infant, booster, convertible).

If you have items to donate, give them to a CarePortal Team member or contact the Team Leaders listed below.  In addition, we have an "Essential Supplies Collection" going through November...
