7th and 8th Grade Confirmation

This Bible study opportunity is for all 7th, and 8th grade students.  We explore the wonders of God's love and the joy of growing as a disciple of Jesus.

7th grade students work their way through a full Bible overview during the fall semester.  They discuss topics from Creation to Revelation, highlighting key points in the history of mankind, Israel, and how this has an affect on us to this day.  In the spring, using the book Life's Big Questions, God's Big Answers, we begin to explore some of the tougher questions that we face as Christians: "How do you explain dinosaurs?  How did Noah get all of the animals on the boat?  Was there really a resurrection?  Is the Bible really the inspired word of God?"

8th grade students are using the book and curriculum Lutheranism 101 which gives a full overview of our Lutheran faith.  Topics include, the 10 Commandments, the Sacraments, the Apostle's Creed, the Reformation, and more!

At the end of the Confirmation process, 8th grade students particpate in Witness Night, a night in which they answer questions about their faith and why they believe what the do prior to taking part in the Rite of Confirmation.  This is a joyful occassion which we celebrate on the first Sunday in May.

If you have any questions regarding our Confirmation program, please see Pastor Barry Akers or Jonathan Guse, DCE.
